This week I was with O’dells studios Monday and Friday and Orto on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Monday was a busy day , with fittings for an actor in the morning- lots of running back and forth to Camberwell to the tailors. I also helped shoot content of the Toast x Solovair shoe collab for Tom. I really enjoyed this as I got to do visual research and have more of a say in the direction of the shoot. I was really please with how the photos turned out- I plan to carry out more projects like this.

At Orto this week there was another assistant in the studio on Tuesday- this made me feel more comfortable so I think I’ve learned I prefer to be in a work environment where there is a team rather than just me and 1 other person- maybe I need to find my next placement in a larger team. Tuesday was more of a prep day where I took fabric to the launderette and ironed lots and lots of fabric. Then on Wednesday , we printed more large tablecloth and I helped coat a fabric in a new eco coating that is being g trialled for a waterproof coating. It was interesting to learn about this and it was a new technique that I wouldn’t necessarily would have expected to be doing before I started at a print studio.
Thursday I had a really nice day off! This was very needed.

On Friday I had an early start with Tom at content filming day at a film studio for a big Netflix series. This is what the fitting on monday was for. It was super exciting being on set in a large production studios, this is the first time I’ve been on a set like that. I really enjoyed the shoot day energy.
I have had a very busy week, with all this and working at my part time job. In the upcoming week I would like to continue emailing to try to set up my next placement. I’d also like to try to find time to relax.
