This week at O’Dells studios I planned and executed a test shoot. This included communicating with an agency to arrange a model, planning looks and the direction of the shoot.
I was a bit nervous about doing this for the first time but I feel that I had built up the necessary skills over the past few months to execute the shoot well.
I was only told the night before that I would be leading this shoot, so it did feel slightly rushed. The quick turnaround is something that I will have to get used to in the creative industry.
What could be improved? I feel that I could have been more adventurous with the looks but this was due to limited resources and late notice. I think it resonated well with the vibe of the reference imagery. In future, Tom and I could communicate more effectively to ensure the division of tasks is clear.
I am happy with how it turned out! This has really built my confidence and I’d like to do more like this in the future. here are some of the shots below:
